The collana Group is strengthening its presence as a Microsoft service provider for the Swiss public sector: our subsidiary, Option 4.0 AG, based in Winterthur, has emerged victorious from a public tender organised by the City of Winterthur’s IT Services (IDW), beating seven competitors. With the highest overall score and the most compelling bid, Option 4.0 secured the contract to become the city’s exclusive Microsoft technology partner.
The city of Winterthur has deliberately opted for a single-provider model: Option 4.0 is now the sole service provider responsible for managing and further developing the city administration’s entire Microsoft ecosystem. This includes:
- Microsoft client and server operating systems
- Office 365 and Microsoft 365 (M365)
- Exchange, SQL Server and SharePoint
- Microsoft Teams
- Hybrid cloud and on-premises infrastructures
Being the sole Microsoft consultant for all matters relating to a major Swiss city underscores the extraordinary trust that IDW places in Option 4.0’s expertise.
The City of Winterthur’s IT Services set out clear priorities in their tender: the focus was on operational security, compliance with data protection requirements under Swiss federal law, and the specific requirements of the Canton of Zurich. The future Microsoft partner had to demonstrate a proven command of best practices and possess many years’ experience in both on-premises and cloud environments. This is precisely what Option 4.0 has convincingly demonstrated.
