Operation

Managed Services for your ERP, BI and cloud landscape

collana takes responsibility for your applications, platforms and infrastructure, including monitoring, maintenance, support and further development. This includes system operations and monitoring, application management, operations in Azure, on-premises or in a hybrid environment, managed security, the service desk and service level management.

The difference compared to a traditional IT services provider: we don’t simply manage any old IT systems; we manage the business applications that we ourselves have helped to implement.

Continuity & Support

What happens after the go-live?

The implementation of a software system is one of the most sensitive projects a company can undertake. Consequently, our work does not end with the acceptance report.

At the start of the go-live phase, we will be on hand to support your system users. We will also draw on our implementation resources to provide technical and functional support during the system migration. So the people who have documented your processes as part of the project are the very same ones who help you in day-to-day operations.

Following this phase, support transitions to day-to-day operations. A service portal and remote maintenance are available for access.

Operating models

What business models are there? Is it for Microsoft Dynamics?

Your ERP system can be operated in three different ways, and the choice you make will determine how much of the day-to-day operation remains in your hands.

Local server

Operations at your premises, managed by you.

Data centre

Operated on a server in the data centre, managed by a Microsoft partner.

Cloud

Cloud-based operation.
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and NAV are available in all three versions. If you wish to outsource operations, we can take them on as a managed service, including monitoring, backup and disaster recovery.
Interfaces & Integrations

Who monitors the Interfaces between the systems?

Integrations are where operational issues first arise and remain undetected for the longest time. Our integration solutions are actively monitored and regularly optimised to ensure that communication between your systems runs smoothly. This applies to API and middleware connections as well as to EDI and ERP integrations.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About Managed Services

What are managed services?

Managed services mean that a service provider takes charge of the day-to-day operation of IT systems, rather than simply responding to faults. At collana, this includes system operation and monitoring, application management, cloud and infrastructure operation, managed security, a service desk and service level management.

Which systems does collana support?

ERP, BI and business applications, as well as the associated infrastructure, operated on Microsoft Azure, on-premises or in a hybrid environment. This also includes the interfaces between these systems.

What is the difference between managed services and a maintenance contract?

A maintenance contract usually covers fault rectification and updates. Managed services also include proactive monitoring with automated alerts, performance tuning, backup and recovery strategies, as well as documented and measured service levels.

Will collana also run on my existing Microsoft Dynamics NAV?

Microsoft Dynamics NAV has been marketed under the name Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central since 2018; however, existing NAV installations are still in use and are supported by us. The software can be run on your own servers, in a data centre or in the cloud.

Is IT security part of day-to-day operations?

Yes. Security updates, vulnerability analyses and access control are all part of our Managed Services. Further services, such as security assessments, NIS2 preparation and identity management, can be found on our IT security page.
