At Bucher Municipal, much of the technical documentation, especially for older vehicle models, was only available in decentralised or paper form.
For maintenance teams, this meant a lot of searching, long downtimes and inefficient processes. A smart solution was needed to obtain reliable information more quickly on a global level. Digital, multilingual and scalable.
Together with Option 4.0 (a member of the collana Group), Bucher Municipal developed a chatbot app that uses Azure OpenAI and AI Search accesses technical documents, processes them and answers maintenance-related questions in an understandable way.
The backend is based on Python, the front end to ReactJS, fully embedded in the existing infrastructure. The solution automatically searches through documentation and provides contextualised, precise answers - whether in German, Spanish or Chinese.
