Project description

The task

As Switzerland's largest media discounter, Ex Libris AG generates over 90% of its sales online.

However, behind this success lay a complex IT landscape with around 70 individual applications spread across various systems, some of which were maintained manually, requiring high maintenance costs and prone to errors. The task: to create a stable, automated and low-maintenance solution for the future.

Solution

The realisation

collana solutions AG has fundamentally modernised Ex Libris' entire system landscape. All applications have been migrated to .NET Core, made container-ready and optimised for Linux.

Today, applications in OpenShift run in a controlled manner via automated CI/CD pipelines with time-controlled operation.

The new setup not only reduces operating costs (e.g. by eliminating Windows licences), but also ensures significantly greater stability and efficiency in day-to-day business.

„The project was a great success. The solutions provided by collana solutions are essential for the collaboration between ERP systems, front-end, suppliers and external partners. Careful implementation and consultation enabled processes to be optimised and ensured the platform could be operated at all times. We will apply the same concept to other parts of the Ex Libris systems.“
