As one of Germany's leading economic research institutes, the IW needed a powerful BI solution to analyse complex key figures and present them in an understandable way. The existing ERP tools were not sufficient to make transparent and reliable statements about cost and revenue structures.
The aim was to create a system that enables period-based analyses, individual reports and automated alerts – tailored to the needs of management, controlling and project managers.

Requirements and objectives were defined jointly in an initial workshop. Based on the TARGIT Decision Suite, b-imtec (a member of the collana Group) developed a central reporting system including interactive dashboards, KPI monitoring and role-based views.

The system is based on Microsoft SQL technologies and has been seamlessly integrated into the existing infrastructure.
